It Socks to Be Lonely – FREE Laundry Room Art

Hello! If you stumbled upon my page from Pinterest or another website, welcome! You can get to know more about me and what you’ll find on The Resplendent, here. And, if you like this post, feel free to check out more of my DIY projects. Or, if you’re a mama like me, check out some of my stuff on motherhood, like this letter to new mamas or the day I temporarily went missing. Married? Check out this post on why I love submitting to my husband or this super honest letter to my hubby. And before you go, don’t forget to find me on Instagram and Facebook. I’d love to connect with you, and I hope you’ll stick around! Or don’t. I’m not the boss of you.

Miracle of miracles, I finally finished a project since having a baby. I have been dying to complete a few for a while now, but for some reason I just haven’t had it in me to sacrifice eating a meal or taking a shower in order to do some crafting during my 30 whole minutes of free time during the day. Weird, right?

So, I made this cutesie patootsie Laundry Room Art. Which means, for you mamas out there looking for an easy homemade gift or a quick and easy project to do (or really for anyone without a lot of spare time – aka pretty much everyone), you’re in the right place. I put together 4 options of “artwork” for this project (mostly because I am indecisive). And, good news, I am giving them to you for FREE. Because, to me, there is nothing more annoying than finding some cute artwork on Pinterest, clicking to follow the link, and landing on an Etsy page that charges $20 just to email me the picture that I have to print myself anyway. So, like I said, free. They are all 8 1/2 x 11, so all you have to do is print them out on a typical sheet of printer paper.

To Print:

Click on the image below to enlarge. Then, right click on the image to either save it to your computer or copy it. Once saved or copied, open the image in Microsoft Word or a similar program to print!

Yes, I just saved you $20. Wam, bam, thank you ma’am.

Now, go and dig up an old frame. I am sure you have one somewhere. It doesn’t even have to be cute, because it’s going in the laundry room – the place for dirty stuff. However, you may have to go and buy some clothes pins (unless you actually dry your clothes on a clothes line to save some serious moolah. And no, I don’t do that. But yes, you’d be my hero if you did). Then just glue the clothes pins on. Eyeballing encouraged. And, I used the “Original Tacky Glue.”

Lastly, if you want to take the extra step, I decorated the clothes pins with some leftover scrapbook paper to add some extra spunk. I know, I know, overachiever. But, I had to make sure my pictures were click-worthy to get you here!

And, before I go, here is a quick clip to demonstrate how I felt when I suddenly realized I had actually completed a project.

You’re welcome.

PS. Don’t forget to tag me in the photos of your own Resplendent laundry room art. I would love to see your finished projects (Instagram: @the_resplendent or Facebook: @The Resplendent)!

Hi Sandy- So sorry you are having trouble! Have you been clicking on the image you want straight from the post, and then right clicking on the image to save, copy, or print it? I just tested it and was able to right click on the image to copy it, and then pasted it into Microsoft Word to print it full size (8.5×11). You should be able to copy or save the image to your computer and then open it up in Word or a similar program to print it. Let me know if there is a more specific issue I can try and help with!

This is a great idea. I dry my laundry on a clothes line and I have extra clothes pegs to close bags in the kitchen :)

  9. Doris says:

i love this but I can’t get the clothespins to stay glued on. They just keep falling off when you put any pressure on them. Help please.

    • Marielle says:

Hi Doris! Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. I used some type of “gorilla” glue or something from my dad for mine that seemed to do the trick. But I suppose it depends on what type of frame you used. Could you try using a small tack nail or screw to secure the clothespins more tightly? Good luck!
